Lisa Moya

Team DC sat down with Lisa Moya, volunteer and cheerleader with Cheer DC, to get her thoughts and perspective of what it means to be LGBTQ+ and an active sports team member.

Team DC: How long have you played the sport or participated in the activity of your Team DC member club?

Lisa Moya: I’ve been with Cheer DC for one year.

TDC: When did you first start playing/participating?

LM: I was blessed to have been asked by our founder in September of 2019.

TDC: What advice do you offer LGBTQ+ youth who are interested in your sport/activity?

LM: To never be afraid to try something new.

TDC: What is your favorite part of being a member of an LGBTQ+ team?

LM: The members and the community.
