To all of the Team DC community and beyond, it’s time to wrangle’em in ‘n’ round’em up for the
DC Rawhides’ Showdown Fundraiser. Dust off your best boots and heels for a dance contest!

Yes, you read that correctly. DC Rawhides is welcoming everyone to its first ever dance contest fundraiser for Team DC sports teams.

2/5/2020 Update: The women’s event scheduled for February 8 has been canceled. The men’s competition remains on schedule for March 7.

Three cash winners, Two line-dances, One night of champions

Canceled: Women’s Competition – Saturday, February 8^th

Men’s Competition – Saturday, March 7^th

If you are non-binary please compete where you feel most comfortable. Come as you identify.

This event is free, but you’ll want to arrive before 9pm to pay ONLY $5 cover.

When, where and what time?

Join the fun at Ziegfields/Secrets located at 1824 Half St SW, Washington, DC.

Doors open at 7pm

• Round 1 starts around 8:30pm
• Round 2 starts around 9:15pm
• Tie-Breaker Round starts at 10:15pm

What can I win?

• 1^st Place Cash Prize: $100
• 2^nd Place Cash Prize: $75
• 3^rd Place Cash Prize: $50

Here’s the bonus: The winner gets NO COVER admission into all dance in the current 2020 schedule (ending June 27^th) OR 1 free admission ticket to our 2020 Anniversary Dance (Saturday, April 25^th)

What else should I know?

Ways to win bonus points:

• Bring the largest team contingent to the event BEFORE 9pm.
• Get your teammates to friend/like DC Rawhides on FB and IG.
• Officially repost all contest related promotion on your team’s social media/newsletter.
• Be voted the best dressed cowpoke in the competition by crowd applause. Come dressed in your best country western gear and earn some street cred.

Sound easy enough. Anything else?

Here’s the fine print: Limit one competitor representing each team. Competitors must be active members of the team which they represent. Novice (non-DC Rawhides regular) dancers only may apply.

This event has no registration fee, but you will need to email Adrian Safar to register. Check out the sidebar for more ways to contact him.

This event is inclusive and affirming. All are welcome as they are. If you think you need a dancing refresher, though, find some help at DC Rawhides’ website.

You can also find DC Rawhides on Facebook and some great photos of them in action on Instagram. Every registered team will get promoted heavily on social media in February and March and periodically throughout the year to celebrate the rivalry.
