DCDD: A Tupperware Party with Dixie Longate
D.C.’s Different Drummers proudly announces our upcoming charity fundraiser, featuring the comedic Off-Broadway show of Dixie Longate’s Tupperware Party, on Sept. 19th and 20th at Arena Stage at Washington, D.C.’s SW Waterfront.
Ms. Dixie Longate, the fast-talking, gum chewing, ginger-haired Alabama gal who is bringing your grandma’s Tupperware party out of the living and into the 21st century. Audiences howl with laughter from her outrageously funny tales, homespun wisdom, audience participation and uses for Tupperware that you never thought possible. For anyone who has ever felt like they don’t matter, Dixie’s Tupperware Party is a southern tale of empowerment that leaves your heart a little bigger and your food a little fresher.
All proceeds of this performance will benefit D.C.’s Different Drummers, as we strive to welcome ALL musicians as it fosters pride, inclusivity, and engagement with the greater Washington, D.C. region through music. These resources will go directly to our central mission, including instrument procurement and repair, rehearsal space rental, and other day-to-day operations of our non-profit music organization.
The entire National Capital Region is welcome to join us for this important fundraiser as D.C.’s Different Drummers prepares to celebrate our 40th birthday in 2020.
