Walk & 5K to End HIV runners and walkers

The annual Walk & 5K to End HIV has been moved to December 1, 2018 to coincide with World AIDS Day.

There is still time to participate, and you can register on the day of the event itself! Please find more information below as well as at Walk & 5K To End HIV.

Where

The Walk & 5K to End HIV will begin and end at Freedom Plaza (Pennsylvania Avenue and 13th Street, NW). The closest Metro stations are Federal Triangle (Blue / Orange lines) and Metro Center (Blue/Orange/Red lines).

Held for the past 32 years, the Walk & 5K to End HIV is Whitman-Walker Health’s signature fundraiser that calls on thousands of Washington, DC area residents to strap up their shoes and walk or run to support WWH’s mission of providing dependable, high-quality, comprehensive and accessible health care to those infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Keep these points in mind:
  1. If you are a registered participant, it’s never too early or too late to secure donations in support of the Walk & 5K to End HIV! Donors can contribute online through December 31, 2018.
  2. Supporter checks should be made payable to ‘Whitman-Walker Health’.
  3. Checks should be accompanied by a donation form with the participant name on it. To guarantee proper attribution, the walker/runner name should be noted on the check’s memo line.
  4. Checks should be sent to Whitman-Walker Health Walk & 5K to End HIV, 1342 Florida Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20009. Please do not send cash by mail. All donations are tax-deductible.

The Walk & 5K to End HIV will take place the morning of Saturday, December 1.

7:30 am : Same-day registration and other activities begin.
8:15 am : Uplifting program of music, speakers, and warm-up exercises begins.
9:15 am : 5K timed run begins promptly.
9:20 am : Walk to End HIV steps off.
10:00 am : Stick around for our post-Walk celebration.
